Got my bank account this morning with no problems whatsoever (well, one tiny one that I'll mantion later), at bangkok Bank Meechok branch (Chiang Mai).
We were told that even though I had got a residency certificate, they did not require it, as my non-o visa and marriage certificate were enough..
My little problem...... I now have the book, the bank card, and I can access my account online with no problems. However, I cannot access through the mobile app, as the faciaL recognition required insists that I have a face covering....... It's my beard...🤣😂
Guess it couldn't all go to plan, so the 30 mins it took was good. Unlike the flights where we paid for 16 hours and got another 18 for free through Beijing...☹
Has anyone else had issues with Bagnkok Bank facial recognition insanity for mobile banking not allowing you to even register? 93 attempts with branches help and a call to tech support has been a waste of time. I only want pc access to my account and not mobile banking but seems you cannot do anything.
What is coming in the near future in our obtaining a Thai Visa worldwide?
I share this as "food for thought"....
Introducing...
The ELECTRONIC E-Visa ONLINE application for ALL VISAS for Thailand.
This taken from the Paris, France - Thai Embassy website...
"14. Do Thai embassies and consulates around the world all already use electronic visas?
Not yet. In order to test and evaluate various aspects, the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs has for the moment chosen some diplomatic missions to start with the E-Visa.
Currently, the Royal Thai Embassy in Paris, London and Beijing, as well as some Thai consulates in China, use E-Visa.
If all goes well, the ultimate goal is for all Thai diplomatic missions to introduce the electronic visa."

I post this as an alert to all of what apparently may be coming in the near future in obtaining any Thai visa.
The E-Visa system along with Thai Consulates and Embassy's will have immediate electronic access to ones personal history in Thailand...just as the Royal Thai Police now do as you approach a Thai Immigration Officer.
And the E-Visa system essentially will be making the decision to approve or not approve a visa application. The Consulates/Embassy locations will review collected documents submitted online and issue the visa in your passport.
This is along with facial recognition technology and fingerprinting now in use as we enter and depart Thailand.
I think the E-Visa may impact most those who have used for years the "new/lost passport" trick along with various kinds of visas ...Tourist, Ed and border runs...visa exempt entries with extensions...visas obtained from most all Thai Consulates in SE Asia...and within reach elsewhere by land or air... In order to get visas to visit, live and work in Thailand.
IMHO ...For some, it may be time to prepare a Plan B and to think about your future options....and getting the correct visa for your stay in Thailand is one.
I have linked also Topics section..

as reference to other posts from the UK who are submitting their visa applications online using E-Visa.
I close commenting...and I share / post this as an "information only post"...food for thought.
