Wondering if anyone have had success getting a proof of residency from the Thai tax department? Reason I’m asking is that I need this document to show Portuguese authorities that I’m now residing in Thailand.
I heard from an agency in Pattaya that they can’t process this kind of document with the Thai tax department if you’re on DTV visa but maybe someone has other experiences.
Hey everyone, in reading through as many posts here as I can and after calling the embassy of my home country I'm still a bit confused on how to handle my situation regarding location and residence.
I have a country of residence, I am currently not in (which does NOT have a Thai embassy). I also left my country of citizenship I was visiting recently which does have a Thai embassy with which I spoke to. My business is US based although I'm neither a resident or citizen there and not present there either.
I'm getting a lot of mixed information, I've read that I need documents proving my residence ties to my country of permanent residence (utility bill, residence card etc). I've also read I need proof of my current location, which also often seems to be documents related to residence? So I'm confused.
When I spoke to the representative from the embassy she really emphasized the importance of showing residence ties to your permanent place of residence not my current location, although she seemed to indicate my original home country would be acceptable too.
On another note did anyone apply from their home country that is no longer their permanent residence? If so what documents did you use?
So I'm at a bit of a loss here. I read about people traveling to Laos, Vietnam etc to apply for their evisas, I could do the same and am considering it. I just know my situation is a little more convoluted than most and applying through a foreign embassy as a tourist may only further complicate things. Any suggestions or clarifications are welcome. 🙏
With the e-visa now rolling out in many countries, am I correct in thinking that if I am a resident of Australia that normally does his non-o (marriage) there if I were to go to South Africa (work) would i still be able to apply for a non-o there and come back to Thailand even though I'm not a resident of South Africa?
Hi everyone, advice please..My retirement visa expires mid February..I don't want to put any of my UK investments in this year so will probably need an agent..I have approximately 700k thb in my account and need 400k to finish purchasing a house in Thailand..I have much usage of this account in 2024..I am considering getting married.would it pay me to get all documents necessary prepared now to get a marriage license registration and then marry asap as I have the required 400k already in the bank. Hope this makes sense, thanks for any input
1. If I have no address or proof of residency in my home country, do Thai embassies accept any Hotel address from the country where I`m going to apply for DTV?
2. Do I have to apply for soft power classes for the whole 5 years? Or only the first 180 day term? And if so, is it possible to change between different soft power activities?
Hi, i’ve seen a good flight ticket going to Tapei. But i discovered there is a stop in Seoul. Which of these two places is easier (time, no boring, live cost waiting) to apply for DTV (for the ones who did it) ?
Hi, I am currently in Georgia (country). I see it listed in the countries where you can apply for DTV but there is no embassy or consulate here. When I go on e-visa website and enter Georgia as current place of residence, it makes me enter Ankara, Türkiye as embassy to apply. Will it require me to go to the Turkish embassy or can I apply online here and receive everything electronically? I have Canadian passport, and my husband has Russian passport.
