Hi, Is that normal? I went to immigration in Pattaya to extend my marriage visa for another year after one year. She stamped my passport until the end of January and said that I would only receive the visa after the police had been in the building to visit us? Has anyone experienced the same thing?
I have a question about the police visit required for renewing your non-o visa based on marriage. I will start my renewal paperwork next month, with the police visit sometime during the month, and then hopefully the visa will be issued at the end of the month. This is Samui, so the police DO visit...at least they did last year.
My wife's family is coming in the middle of the month, and she wants to take them to Koh Tao for a few days. I'm worried this will be a problem if the police want to visit during those days when, you know, she's not even on the same island. Will this complicate matters for my visa renewal? Can we plan ahead with immigration for this?
Has anyone else experienced this? I'm curious to hear any feedback from others who may have dealt with this. Thank you.
