I am trying to start a DTV visa application online on [members only]/
There is a section where they ask my address and if it's the same as my permanent address.
I chose HCMC embassy in Vietnam thinking that I would go there soon to get the visa hopefully, so am I supposed to write a Vietnamese address in this field? anyone knows?
Sorry, I know this has been asked multiple times but with varying answers, please let me know what's what. I am applying at Hanoi, and I want to make sure I have everything correct since I've triple checked everything else. Should I put my home address AND Hotel in Vietnam here or what do people do for this? Last question before I apply - I swear 😅 I'm confused by this part, and even more confused by some of the replies when searching.
This is only tangentially related to the DVT, but hey, at least I’m not asking about 90 day reports! 🙂
For those of you who are traveling around Thailand rather than staying put in one condominium, what are you doing about your address for your phone contract/bill?
When I previously worked in Thailand, I received a paper bill in the mail each month, which I think took to a 7-Eleven or ATM to scan and pay.
So I was curious how you go about getting a contract and paying your bill if you don’t have a fixed address In Thailand.
Hi everyone.! I just landed in Phuket last week from the US on a 60 day tourist visa and will now be applying for a 1 YEAR RETIREMENT VISA. I need advice on these questions….
1. For the residence lease/contract requirement, is there a minimum time that I must be under contract when I apply like 30 or 60 days? Or if I’m applying for a 1 year visa, do I need a 1 year contract? The reason I’m asking is that I want to travel to other parts of Thailand once I receive my visa and I may find another location which I might prefer over Phuket.
Will a one month prepaid hotel stay work for the resident address requirement?
2. For the required criminal background check, I had my local municipal police department in the US run it and give me a form on letterhead stating that my record is clean, which I then had notarized. Will that fulfill the requirement? If not how can I get one from the US while I’m here? I sure don’t want to have to fly back to fulfil this part of the process.
3. I am on US Social Security which meets the minimum financial requirements for a 1 year retirement visa, but since the US Embassy will no longer certify income, which is listed as a Thai requirement, what are my options that would qualify?
Before I arrived last week, I had my social security income verification printed and then notarized by a state certified notary. Will that be acceptable?
I can contact social security and have them start depositing here once I open a Thai account will that qualify by itself once they see it on my bank statement? (I don’t have the 800,000 to deposit in place of monthly income verification).
Thank you in advance for your advice and experience!
I got a question about the immigration office down at Jomtien . Mods if not allowed please move the post.
I want to extend my 60 day visa. The 60th day is on a Sunday the 28th of July.
When can I extend? the Friday before or several days before? Seems a gray area.
If I try and phone the office will they be able to tell me or am i wasting my time and just go along a few days before?
Any advice from those who have done it welcome please.
I am in Bangkok but hear its gonna be a full day to get this extension done here. So a mate of mine suggested the Jomtien centre as it should be quicker.
