Can someone shed their experience in getting the covid extension at Chaengwattana? Do they always require TM 30? And do they only give you a consideration stamp, and you have to return for permanent?
A heads up at Phuket Immigration. I went for a covid extension early on the 24th when my actual due date is the 27th, I received a consideration stamp for the 30th. I went today a day early to get it complete and they said come back tomorrow because it’s not complete yet.... save your time and go on the day of
HOURS LATER SAME DAY UPDATE: got my under consideration stamp until dec 15th and was told I can return for the 60 day stamp as early as dec 9th (earliest possible), up to a few days after 15th. Note: immigration closed for holiday dec 10 & 11
UPDATE ON 60-DAY EXTENSION - I've just been to immigration in Samui (living on Koh Phangan). They are only giving a consideration stamp right now, so you must return no earlier than Dec 15th to get a 60-day stamp that starts from Dec 1st. You can only get the 60-day stamp from the same office that issued the consideration stamp. There's no way around it. I asked to receive both stamps today for an extra cost and they won't do it. Wondering if someone could advise the next step in resolving this visa complication.
The previous stamp was a consideration stamp during the beginning of the covid 19.
I went to immigration to change that status to a different visa; and that immigration said that they could only give me further consideration, even though all of the paper work has been done to request a non-B.
The immigration said I will have to leave the country and return in order for them to process.
