Say a DTV visa holder flies into Thailand on a date other than the one stated in the application. Would that cause any issues at the border or would it be fine as the visa is valid from the day it is approved anyway?
I am outside of Thailand right now but will enter Thailand soon (on visa exemption). Can I apply now although I will most probably be inside Thailand at the time the embassy in this other country would approve it or do I need to stay outside Thailand during the whole process?
I'm a us citizen flying into chiang mai. I'm staying 6 days and exiting the country into laos in chiang khong. A week later I'll be flying back to chiang mai from Cambodia with several hours until my flight back to the united states. I'll have to go thru customs/immigration to get my checked bag and then check it back in with the airline I'm flying home with.
So here's my question, will I have to pay the visa fee again since I have to go thru immigration or will they honor my previous stamp in my passport from the week before?
Can I provide my Thai bankbook as proof of funds for a visa exemption by air entry? My work contract ended and I had to leave the country that day. I hoped to get a temporary tourist visa in Malaysia to buy enough time to get my affairs in order before I go back to SA, however both consulates in Penang and KL didn't want to process a TV for a South African passport holder. They said it would take 45 days with a series of interviews and background checks and even then it's a maybe. I booked a flight from KL to Hat Yai tomorrow and was worried if I gave them my bank book it would create a problem. Came in with a non-b and it was extended for 3 years so my income for that period was all from the Thai company I worked for.
Hello, I have a strange question. I just received my Non O immigrant visa and it says i need to use it by 3/24/24. I also just found out that there is a possibility that i would not be able to move to Thailand on that day, a few months after that due to a situation i might have to deal with. What would i need to do to extend the use by date? thank you for any help
My husband and I, US citizens, will be traveling to Chiang Mai on November 29 and hope to stay until March or April. We have been looking through the group posts daily and would like clarification regarding Visas.
We want to travel to neighboring countries during our stay in CM and understand that with an METV we can travel in/out of Thailand multiple times. Our question is, when applying for an METV with the Thai embassy (in US), do we need to show one set of entering/leaving Thailand or multiple proofs of travel in and back into Thailand to ensure they grant us the METV? Do we need to show the same proof of travel to Thai Immigration when initially arriving in Thailand? We understand that the airlines want to see onward travel when departing the US. Does Thai Immigration care?
If we get a SETV do we have to stay in Thailand for 60 days before we can travel out and back into the country? In this case what proof of travel do we need to show the Thai Embassy (in US) when getting our visas? Do we need to show the same proof of travel to Thai Immigration when we arrive in Thailand? We understand that the airlines want to see onward travel when departing the US. Does Thai Immigration care?
We understand we can get extensions on both visas to stay longer in Thailand.
One last question, is there an advantage to going to the Thai Embassy in US to apply for our Visas instead of doing an E-Visa?
