I have some hesitations to fill out the online E-VISA form...
I have 3 first names and on my passport it appears as XXXXX XXXXX X.
So the last one is shortened with a period at the end but in the MRZ zone the period does not appear.
I think I will not write the period in the form, what do you think?
Another thing, on my passport under "Authority" there is the name of the city where the passport was issued, there is an apostrophe in the middle of the name XXXXX-X'XXXX and it is impossible to write an apostrophe in the online form.
Do you think that replacing the apostrophe with a space will not be a problem?
Can you edit the application at the embassy? I put the place of issue as Shanghai since this is where the passport was issued. Doesn't make sense to me that I would need to put America because it's an American passport, they know it came from America. Same with any other country. Why have that on there if the answer is just the country of the passport?
It's a holiday here so no one will look at it until Monday. So I plan to go there first thing in the morning to change it.
im so stupid for this i know.. i just submitted my application and just noticed my date of birth is wrong somehow, no idea how, feel like i triple checked everything. ive JUST submitted, is there anything i can do? Any support line? Please help me :(
DTV application "canceled" (denied) because of incorrect passport expiry date. This was my wife's (dependant) application, evisa done in Shanghai. Already paid so we lost those 2400cny, about $340. Ive seen others been denied because of wrong name spelling, but keep in mind also other details need to be correct.
And if you upload your passport after you've entered these details then the form details are overwritten with what it reads from the passport, and this can be wrong. I don't know what happened in our case. Maybe the day/month was swapped or something like that. We didn't notice it when looking over the application before submitting. It feels a bit unfair that these small details makes you lose the whole visa fee. I'm glad we didn't pay 2M bath for the elite visa! (I know that's not handled like evisa)
Today i will do my first 90-day address report online, any ideas if i should use my name as written in swedish on the page with all details in my passport "STRÖM", which i wrote on the tm47 i filed at Chaengwattana nearly 3 months ago.
Or should i use the english version written at the bottom of the same passport page which the IO at Chaengwattana used on the slip of proof of my above mentioned tm47 report "STROEM"?
