ESPECIALLY people entering visa exempt/visa waiver <-(on the free entry stamp that is 45 days now ;) ) **
At this time <- meaning as of right now, there has been NO official announcement about the continuing of the 45 day visa exempt/visa waiver entry program.
This means March 31st is the last day the 45 day entry program is in effect and come April 1st it will go back to 30 day visa exempt/visa waiver entry.
The TAT <- Tourism Authority of Thailand PROPOSED to the government that the program continue until the end of the year. That proposal has NOT been approved yet.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Currently, the 45-day visa exempt/visa waiver entry program is set to expire on March 31st, reverting back to a 30-day entry as of April 1st. The Tourism Authority of Thailand has proposed an extension of this program until the end of the year, but this proposal has not yet been approved. Members are advised to stay updated through official news outlets.
Covid extensions were completely different. Without them there would have been a mass exodus out of the country which airlines couldn't have handled. Reverting to 30 days on a visa exempt would make no difference within the country.
