I bought my ticket to Thailand for 68 days. I'm going to get the tourist visa (60 days) and on the spot ask for the 30-day extension. Could I have a problem at the airport since my return ticket exceeds the date of my first visa (tourist visa)? Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about potential issues at the airport due to having a return ticket that exceeds the validity of their tourist visa in Thailand. Comments clarified that extensions cannot be requested at the airport and are only available at immigration offices. They also noted that airport authorities are unlikely to question a valid visa, but the airline might scrutinize the return flight date. Purchasing an onward ticket was suggested as a precaution.
, that is what you need to check with your airline.

even tho you got a tourist visa, the airline might refuse you to board. You should consider to buy an onward ticket for 15bucks and save you some bad times
onward tickets are real tickets purchsed by the company and cancelled by the company to receive the refund. they charge a fee for this service. what you're talking about is simply a reservation. Thats a different thing.
iโm saying make sure that they have ticket numbers on the documents or they may be rejected by people who scrutinize them carefully

Well you're not gonna "on the spot" ask for an extension ๐
First because you don't get extensions at the airport ๐ฎ you get them at the immigration office that serves the area where you stay
Second because most offices won't let you get an extension until you have 30 days or less left on your current stamp
You will be fine, and I doubt the people at passport control will say anything to you when you stamp in, because you're coming here with a valid visa
Come in, get the 60 day stamp, when you are down to 30 days or less go to the immigration office in your area and get a 30 day extension for 1900baht, it will be added to your current stamp expiration date
