Hello everyone, apologies in advance if this is going to be a stupid question but yeah... I have a multiple entries visa with 6 months validity.  I live in London but I have an Italian passport for reference. My 60 days will expire on the 18th of May. Now...If I do a visa run let's say on the 5th of May and come back on the 7th, will my 60 days restart (so I'll be able to stay for 60 days more) or 18th of May is still the date I have to go back?

if all you want is a new stamp you don't have to go anywhere for 48 hours. Just leave and return. There's no minimum amount of time you have to be gone. Being gone for 2 days is the same as being gone for 2 hours. It's obvious to the immigration officers that you are just leaving to get a new stamp.

I heard that they can be funny if you literally are gone for like less than a day. I will take the opportunity probably to go to China for a few days as there is an event I'd like to attend 🙂 and I don't need a visa!

Some IO's are a bit funny if you return on the same date that you left, although you've officially left the country, returning the same day doesn't look good with some IO's, depending on which border exit you use I believe.

Every departure cancel your current stay/stamp and every entry restarts the 60 days as Brandon states, and you can also get a 30 days extension at your local immigration if you want to stay longer. (60+30 days).

If you have a multiple entry visa, then every time you enter Thailand until the end date on the visa itself, you'll receive the full stamp that via provides.
