I have an education visa stamped in my (current) German passport. Need to extend the visa at immigration every 2 months however and also do 90 day reports.

My passport expires in a few months and I already have the new passport ready to pick up at the German embassy.

Will I have to make a new visa because of the new passport or is the visa electronically saved with my personal data so i dont have to worry?

Embassy wasnt able tell me for sure.

The embassy should give you a letter stating that you’ve got a new passport. You take that to immigration (edit: along with your old and new passport) and they’ll put the relevant stamps in the new passport.
