Hi all,

I'm currently on an Ed Visa from CMU. I just got a new passport in the mail, (they also sent the old one back with current visa info). 

My 90 day check in is on Saturday. Is it as simple as going to immigration to get the visa transferred over to my new passport? I'm guessing not.

take the old passport, the new passport and the letter they sent along from the consulate saying you got a new passport in country and go to your immigration office to get the extension stamp transferred THEN do your 90 day report so it'll be done on the new passport now

someone lied to you lol, no such thing as a non-b ed visa or extension. Non b for employment, non ed for education. :-)

actually you do need to know, because if he is on the initial VISA that is not transferred and he would need to carry both passports.

no need to know. As Tod said, take both passports plus the letter from embassy to immigration. Its done in 10 min & dont cost you a single baht. Have done it here (in chiang mai at immigration officr at the airport) already (this spring)

actually the reason that

was asking is because Immigrations won't transfer a VISA (a sticker or stamp) to another passport only extensions.

I just thought they were on an extension because they said their 90 day report is due Saturday ;)

Well noted. Always thought & always was told i got a non-b ed visa by cmu (also 1 year) in my passport.

i think IF you look at your stamp you will see you have an EXTENSION OF STAY (I say that because there is no VISA issued by immigrations for education that's good for a year)
