I'm on a yearly marriage visa extension which will expire on Feb 6. I understand that you can apply for an extension 45 days or less in advance at a local immigration office.

If I were to say, apply for an extension on Jan 29th, would I lose those 8 days? Couldn't find any info on this. Sorry if it's already been asked many times.

TLDR : Answer Summary
You can apply for a yearly marriage visa extension 45 days or less in advance without losing any time on your current visa. The new extension will start from the expiration date of your current visa.

this is a question that comes up a lot (y)

You don't lose any time apply for a yearly extension early (as long as it's for the same reason, retirement/retirement, marriage/marriage, etc)

The new year extension is added to the expiration date of your current extension.
