A slightly mundane question.. I have 1.5 pages left in my passport, with an obscene number of stamps from Thailand. I plan to travel soon and know I need a new passport. I'm currently located in Chiang Mai. I'm concerned that if I get a new passport in Chiang Mai and get my most recent Thailand entry stamp transferred to the new passport (as is required), that when I come back to Thailand the immigration officer will see that my passport was issued in Thailand and has a previous Thai entry and exit stamp, which may prompt him/her to check the computer and see all of my many entries to Thailand -- and possibly deny me entry. Therefore, I'm wondering if I should go through the inconvenience of getting a new passport in a different country. What do you think?
