Hi guys, I saw this question in several posts, so sorry for bithering you once again 😁. I'm preparing my evisa application and I still don't get this step number 3 travel information. Why do I need to choose departure date and why do I have to type flight number for non immigrant O visa? Have some of you freshly applied for this type of visa and have some recent experience? I'M planning to move to Thailand with thai husband and 2 kids - so departure ok can fake it. But flight - I cannot book ot yet cause we're still waiting for passports for kiddos and anyway my income is super low so I just worry to be rejected the visa - Do you think it is possible?

TLDR : Answer Summary
In your evisa application for a non-immigrant O visa, you're required to provide travel information, including your intended departure date and flight number. These requirements ensure that your travel plans align with the validity of the visa. If you're unsure, you can make an educated guess for these details, as they do not require an actual booking. Other applicants have successfully used placeholder information, as the primary concern lies in demonstrating a clear intent to travel and meet financial requirements.

Obviously if you want to go Thailand must get a plane some day, and that plane has a flight number, they want to know.

Is that so difficult to understand?

@Goyo *******
ok but obviously an airplain ticket is expensive to some - maybe not to you. And in my case is 4 ppl and I would like to purchase ot when I am 100% sure all my paperwork is ready
Goyo ********
@Gosia *********
Also expensive to me....but your paperwork won't be ready untill you fill up with your flight day and number. And careful cheating them, your visa can be refused.

Any problem? Phone them !!!

If there is any problem after sending all docs, they will tell you and will try to help you to find a solution.

After, few months living in Thailand, I understood that, no matter "why", just they want that way, so....just do it the way they want. Filling that formulary was also a nightmare for me, and I couldn't stop thinking about....why this ? .....why that?.... What if this?.... what if that?.... don't ask yourself why, why, why....just look solutions.

You will do everything ok, and no problem with your visa !!

@Goyo *******
No, it’s not a big deal. Just enter a planned flight number. No one is taking your visa away if you end up taking a different flight.
Raphael *********
Just type in any flight number you intend of going back to thailand. You dont have to book the flight for getting a flight number πŸ™πŸ»

this is exactly what I did - used the flight number. I couldnt book a flight yet because I didn't know what date my visa would be approved by.It ended up taking 2 weeks/11 business days when I anticipated 1 week, so glad I didn't buy a plane ticket in advance!
Peter ****************
Well, it says 'intended' so you must have an idea when you leave within 90 days after issue date of this visa. Same with return date. If they ask fo uploads, maybe a self made little paper with 'going for year extension' concerning return date will do. Because indeed a non O normaly does not need a return flight. The money however (banked or income) would be a bigger concern I guess.

I wonder how they would look at the bank and income statement, cause I'm a SAHM - on the other hand why would they deny visa it shouldn't "separate" the family πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

@Gosia *********
"In my time" (already living in Thailand for 7 years), you had to show 2 or 3 last bank statements and income statements to get my non imm O (Which still was a sticker and I had to go to the Thai Embassy). Don't remember the amount. So sorry, cannot help you with what they want for proof and/or amount now.

Should be on y'r Thai Embassy site I guess. Well, good luck anyway.
Will ************
You put a guess in. You dont have to upload a ticket
Gareth ********
I will need to do the same when I apply for my non o, I'm going to buy an international bus ticket (to Cambodia) to use on the application.
David **********
You need a return flight if you don't have flight details it will be rejected and you will have to do it again
David **********
Nono actually
David **********
Thanks but you're not going to tell me what happened you were not there

hmm maybe it's about the type of visa, you mentioned yours was dtv. I hope it will be fine. Anyways I also hope that later at the airport when they will see us together me, my husband and 2 small kids - 3 of them.

with Thai passports -.they shouldn't do any problem about 1 way ticket..
David **********
I did
Bart **************
@David *********
that is not correct.

Please don't tell me what happened to me is wrong

@David *********
you don't need a return flight for non-O.
David **********
Good on you
Marco *******
@David *********
no you don’t. No return flight is needed
Gareth ********
@Marco ******
I guess it different in different consulates/embassies. That was the case before the new system was introduced too.
David **********
@Marco ******
yes it is I just did it
Marco *******
@David *********
same here. Did it last week, only proof of fly to Thailand was required to upload, no proof of fly out Thailand asked by the embassy
Gareth ********
@David *********
have you applied for non o e-visa? Do you know this is true? what if she plans to extend for a year once in Thailand? Do they expect you to book something a year in advance?
David **********
How come every time I say something I have recently experienced I am told I am wrong
Gareth ********
@David *********
easy mate, I never said you were wrong, I just wondered where you got your info. Lots of people on here act like they know everything, I just asked you some questions. I never said I thought you were wrong.

hmm but I just got to fill the flight number on arrival not on departure. I was told that if I'm planning to book one way ticket I should better get my evisa - which means if you have evisa (non O family my case) you can fly just one way.
David **********
@Gareth *******
yes I was planning to retire here I needed a return flight
Brandon ************
Why? Because it's required. It's that simple.

Most likely they don't want people applying for visas for dates the visa would not be valid for, and this is their way of checking.
