Hi, the consulate is now telling me I need a round trip ticket and not accepting an onward flight or bus ticket. Anyone experiencing this?

You need to meet the requirements when you apply for your visa, not the requirements you met last time. The embassies/consulates are updating requirements, as well as immigration offices do.

Every embassy/consulate gets to make their own rules. Google onward travel ticket. You can buy a ticket back to where you came from to show them for about $10.
