Hi all. Just a bit of a confirmation as to a question I asked recently and wasn’t able to get an answer.

I’ve just been in person to do my 90 day report. I asked the officer why I wasn’t able to do it online as I had done the last two times.

She checked my passport and saw my recently granted extension of stay and told me that was why. Apparently the first 90 day report after you receive a new extension of stay, has to be done in person again. After this, okay to do online again.

There was a few others who commented on my post saying they where experiencing the same and confused to why also, so this clears that up.

In and out in less than 30 minutes by the way, not too busy at all this morning.

 NO, it is not the One Stop Service Center at Cham Churi Square. The only people who can use that for 90 day reporting are people who get their extensions and work permits issued there. SO if that's not where your extension came from it means you go to Muang Thong Thani to do a 90 day report in Bangkok .

Wonder if this new "glitch" and reset will allow me to go back to online reporting. Got a new US passport right before my last 90. Did that report in person. Will post a follow up if it works.

 nope, it doesn't work like that

If you got a new passport inside the country it doesn't matter if you've done 90 day reports on it in person or by mail you will not be able to use the online 90 day reporting program because the TM6 <- arrival departure card is able to be keyed to one passport number that can't be changed.

The only way to start applying for 90 day reporting online once you have a new passport is to exit/re-enter the country and get a NEW TM6 departure card

 wonder if he could say he lost the tm6 and get a new one via a police station. Would that reset to his new passport number and after the 1st in person report, allow him to again use the online system?

 another good try and I give you a thumbs up for creative thinking outside the box.

BUT

If you "lose" a TM6 you

go to the police station

file a police report,

take that to the immigration office,

they take it and get a NEW TM6 card for you from the box 'o TM6 cards, then they cross out the existing letters/numbers, write your old TM6 number on it and hand it to you :(

Totally matches what I was told yesterday when i did a 90 day report for someone who had gotten a new year extension since their last 90 day report.

They said they system doesn't "auto-update" anymore when you get a new extension and you have to do one 90 day report in person to get the online program to work again for 90 day reporting.

Now compelling foreigners to slog out to the immigration office in person is not the smartest thing to do during this covid shit show, but this IS thailand..
