I know it's probably a basic question, but it's been a while since I've done it. My husband has a METV. The first 60 day stamp is due to expire on February 8. How early should he go to immigration in Bangkok to extend for 30 more days? A week before or two weeks before? Secondly, if he goes early, will the 30 day extension start from when the original stamp was set to expire (February 8th) or from the time he goes (therefore, losing some of the time)? Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the procedure for extending a METV visa in Bangkok. The comments confirm that the husband can apply for a 30-day extension at least 30 days before the original expiration date (February 8). Importantly, if he applies early, the extension will not reduce his current stay; the 30 days will be added to the expiration date.
In CW he can go anytime within 45 days of his stamp expiring. Itβs added on so no downside to going early.

He will go to Bangkok CW Chaengewattana Immigration Office in Bangkok. He can go anytime within the last 30 days of his initial 60 days he was STAMPED in on arrival into Thailand.
The 30 days are ADDED to his current ending date of February 8th... so going early does NOT π« LOSE any days.
