Hi! Just a question. My covid extension expires on Dec 28 . If i process another extension today, will the new expiration date be 2 months starting from Dec 28 or from today?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The new COVID extension, if processed today, will typically add 60 days to the current expiration date of December 28. However, it's important to note that many immigration offices allow you to apply for a new extension only when you have 30 days or less remaining on your current visa. Therefore, if you apply now, you may receive another extension that expires 60 days after December 28, potentially giving you a total of 2 months starting from February 28.
I reposted the notice about the thai cabinet passing the resolution that continues the 60 covid extension program until Dec 31st. Thanx

Muang thong thani! So technically If i go now ,I'll get 60 days (dec 28 +60 days) that i can try to renew before dec 31st (if the news you posted becomes official) and I'll get 2 more months starting feb 28 ,right?
In Bangkok you can apply for a new extension when you have 45 days or less left on your stamp SO you can go apply for a new extension now at MTT if you want to
As far as your other question, let's not get the cart before the horse ๐ how about you go get the covid extension you're talking about NOW and worry about the next one down the road a bit.
isn't '45 days or less left' for other longer-term visa types? For COVID extension specifically I have a couple of times been turned away and asked to come back when I have about 5 days left on the visa.
I re-read my FAQ, your question wasn't on the FAQ, so I added it:
K. WILL THE 60 DAY EXTENSION OF STAY BASED ON UNABLE TO TRAVEL DUE TO COVID-19 BE ADDED ON TO MY EXISTING EXTENSION OF STAY?
If you are getting your first extension of stay, the extension of stay will being on the date you apply. FOR MOST IMMIGRATION OFFICES, if you are applying for another extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19, the time will be added on to your existing stamp.
and while you are at it...think what you will do if the Immigration officer wants to see a confirmed airline ticket to your home country before he approves your next extension?
