Do we get Covid extension if we are on 60 days TR Visa? It expires on September 18th. If we apply on August 24th, is it valid for 60 days from that date or from September 18th?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Covid extension for a 60-day TR Visa does not begin automatically on the day of application. Most immigration offices will require you to first apply for a regular 30-day extension before considering the Covid extension. The specific start date of the Covid extension may vary, either starting from the date of application or being added to your current visa stamp validity. It's crucial to consult directly with your local immigration office for precise guidance.
Hi James, I'll be applying for the Covid extension in Koh Samui towards the end of my Tourist Visa 30 day extension (stamped for August 30th) but before August 24th. How often have you heard the need for "Embassy Letter or Proof that your embassy does not issue the letter"? Also, what exactly is the "Embassy Letter" called or for? I'm from the United States. Thank you in advance.
Thank you for your quick responses. Hopefully the likelihood of it being approved is better than it not being approved as long as I have all required documents.
Most offices will make you take your regular 30 day extension BEFORE they let you apply for a covid extension. All you can do is go ask your office if you can get it without the 30 day.
ALSO it's up to the office if they start the covid extension the day you apply OR add it to your existing stamp. SO the people you need to be asking about this are the officers at your immigration office that serves the area where you're staying.
