I entered Thailand without a visa in December.  After I was here for 45 days, I extended it by 30 days.  Previously, I tried to transfer my visa exempt status to a retirement visa using Form TM87.  I have now succeeded.  In my passport is a 90-day retirement visa.  The stamp now says I can stay until May 7th. 2023(Non O Imm).  When is the earliest I can do my 1 year retirement visa?

you won't be getting ANY visa 😮 all you will be doing is applying for a year extension of stay FROM the 90 day non-O visa you have now

you can do it when you have 30 days or less left on your current stamp (some offices let you do it when you have 45 days or less but you don't say where you are)

So anytime AFTER April 7th you can apply (as long as your funds are seasoned for the 2 months if you are using banked money)

I must add, that the officer at the Immigration was very friendly and helpfull, may-be because of my age and especially when she saw, that I was many years in Thailand with a Retirement Visa I always had before Corona.
