Just wanted to thank everyone for all their help in the information that was given. I applied on April 10th for a 60 day visa through the Los Angeles Thai embassy here in the United States. I fly out tonight and I just received it this morning so that's how long it took. One thing is I attached my airline ticket that showed I was leaving today and coming back in September. For my return ticket I just attached the same ticket and I was approved. See you guys on the streets of Thailand. Thank you.

Well the airline never asked about an onward ticket leaving Thailand in 60 days. And never ask about the visa. Wheels up in 2 hours

you can always get a 30 day extension or even a retirement visa as long as you meet the requirements

no they wont, with a visa the airlines wont ask any questions..

Only those flying without a visa "might" be questioned on checkin

Absolutely incorrect. Someone with a non O visa wouldn’t be asked. Someone with a tourist visa but no onward travel ticket within 60 days may well be asked and/or refused boarding. It has happened before. Doesn’t happen as often as having no visa but it may well happen to them.

since the United States it's visa on arrival I've never had the airline ask for a visa or a ticket that comes back when within 30 or 60 days

Looking back, I see it's a multiple entry, non-immigrant OA based on retirement, innit? Or tourist?

Regardless, do please report back your success in not being asked for proof of onward travel by your airline.

It's interesting the LA office RTE passed you without that, though. Well done. 👍

he doesn't need an airline ticket within 60 days. Even a one way ticket would probably have been fine. He has a visa and will be OK.

US citizens do not qualify for visa on arrival. They qualify for visa exempt.

And it's very common to be asked by your airline.
