ORIGINAL POSTER
My experience going via Vietnam.

Flew into Cam Ranh and applied via Ho Chi Minh City embassy on Friday 14 Feb. I had my business registration documents, employment contract, client invoices and bank statements all put together and uploaded to the portal by the team at Settle in Abroad. (Workcation category.)

- Feb 18th: asked for additional document - a full copy of every page in my passport. Note: this is not requested in the initial application form in the portal, but my agent had warned me in advance so we had it ready to go the same day.

- Feb 21st, 12.30pm: approved.

All up 5 working days.

We did consider going via Cambodia as it seemed to be the path of least bureaucratic resistance, but Vietnam makes for a more comfortable trip IMO.

Congratulations 👏👏👏

Be sure to PRINT OUT copies of the email you received with the DTV Visa. Show it IF ASKED at airline check-in and with the Thai Immigration Officers upon arrival into Thailand.

Carry copies of the documents submitted with your DTV Visa Application. (If ever asked by Thai Immigration Officers to see them.)

Double check your STAMP in your passport received on arrival into Thailand from the Thai Immigration Officer, to make sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.

Congrats! Vietnam is also much quicker to approve than Cambodia, so you made the right choice.
