Hi, I applied for 60-Day Tourist Visa on Oct 5. It is now Oct 17 and I haven't heard anything. Still says application processing. I have emailed the US consulate with no response. My flight is Oct 23. What do I do?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has been waiting for their 60-Day Tourist Visa application to be processed for 12 days without any response from the US consulate, and their flight is approaching. Community members suggest that if the visa is not approved by the flight date, the user can enter Thailand on a visa exempt entry stamp for 45 days. If the visa gets approved later, the user can then exit and re-enter Thailand to activate the visa. It is also noted that a tourist visa is valid for 90 days from the date of issue.
You get 45 days exempt and can extend for another 30 days = 75 days as you don’t want to leave the country bite the bullet and forget your 60 day visa

If the visa isn't approved by the time you fly here, you can come in on a free visa exempt entry stamp (which is now 45 days)
and
if the visa does get approved once you're here you can print the PDF eVisa file, stamp out of thailand, stamp in&out of another country and then stamp right back in to thailand showing them that PDF at passport control and you'll get stamped in on that tourist visa for 60 days.
Remember a tourist visa is valid for 90 days from the date it's issued <- that means you have that long to enter the country and get stamped in for the 60 days you're allowed on a tourist visa.
