My student visa is expiring on the 23rd of December. Should I go to immigration and get an amnesty stamp? Any advise is appreciated.

Amnesty is over. If you don't go to immigration to apply for any kind of extension, you will be on overstay.

I guess the best way is to get an extension from current Ed visa. Or apply for an extension due to unable to travel because of Covid-19.

You may need to check with your local immigration office if you can apply there in case your current visa was issued in another province.

Amnesty is over. Finished October 31. You now have to pay for a covid extension. 1900 baht for up to 60 days

If its expiring...yes go before it expires to your local immigration office.

Was the student visa extension obtained at the same immigration office where you live now ?

I ask because it appears you were lucky to obtain an Ed visa inside Thailand a few months ago.

If you have a Ed visa, why not extend it ? Easy to do with your school assist and the immigration extension fee is only 1,900 Thai baht.
