What should I do after my DTV visa application was rejected by the Thai Embassy due to financial requirements?

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience and see if anyone can provide an advice or smth..

Unfortunately, I received a rejection email for my DTV visa yesterday from the Thai Embassy in Cairo, Egypt. The reason stated was that I don’t meet the financial requirement of 850K EGP (~500K THB).

However, I had attached:

• A transaction history from my Remotepass account (I work remotely as a consultant through Remotepass).

• My actual work contract (active since August last year)

• An additional bank statement.

Both statements combined exceed 500K THB and are in USD, yet my application was still rejected.

I applied on February 17th and got a response just one day later. I’ve tried reaching out for clarification and to see if anything can be done, no response back.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Any idea why this might have happened or what I can do next?

Would really appreciate it!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shares their experience of receiving a rejection for a DTV visa application at the Thai Embassy in Cairo due to financial requirements, despite providing documentation that they believed exceeded the required amount. They seek advice from the community about similar experiences and possible next steps, revealing that the embassy's financial requirement of 500K THB likely needs to be documented in a single bank account, rather than through a third-party payment platform like RemotePass.

First of all , you need to show 500k in thai baht or a relevant amount in another currency in your personal bank account , remote pass isnt a bank account and its probably why they rejected you if you arent egyptian , but if you are egyptian they would reject you anyway without a reason , i know a couple of friends that got rejected even they may have applied with stronger documents than i did , but i got mine from another country back in october

Nevermind, even if you meet all the requirements, they already don't give the dtv visa for Egyptians in Egypt embassy

‘Both statements combined’. The 500k baht needs to be in one account

The bank account has the money on its own, right? Or did you combine it with something else?

Many Muslim and African countries are rejected for various reasons

- not adequate funds

- will not return or leave Thailand

RemotePass looks like a payment platform, you need to show 500k+ in the bank, not income funds going through a 3rd party payment platform. Transfer all your funds into a bank so that it exceeds the 500k, and also ensure you are aware of how long that embassy wants to see the funds in place before submitting another application.

sure they think he is scaming has the funds from another source. It's not his usual banking account that's what they want it see not some trading account that could be empty tomorrow. There are enough living on no income here sleeping in. The beach

Are you Egyptian? For some reason the Thai embassy in Cairo is not accepting Egyptians for the DTV, although they are offering it which is weird, I applied too and had all necessary documents submitted and they requested additional documents which I submitted , then I got asked for an interview, in which I was told I have two choices either reject my application or get a multiple entry tourist visa

Some embassies will require 3 to 6 month of bank statements with the 500K thb on the account, but people usually get asked for additional documents, they are not rejected right away for this reason.

You say "both statements combines exceed 500K THB", but remotepass is not a bank account, right? So they would not take this into account, and the other statement you provided is not above 500k, so they rejected.
