TLDR : Answer Summary
To enter Thailand, travelers must present a negative RT-PCR test result. The previous requirement for a 'Fit to Fly' certificate is no longer in effect. It's crucial that the test result specifically states 'RT-PCR,' as Thai authorities require this designation. Antigen tests or at-home COVID tests purchased in drug stores do not meet the entry requirements. Additionally, travelers are tested upon arrival in Thailand, but a valid RT-PCR result is required for boarding the flight.
It”s the widely used and enhanced version of the PCR test designed to better detect the virus. Our PCR-RT test results were checked before we boarded, when we transited through Singapore (where the requirement is 48 hours before date of departure) and when we arrived in HKT. Safe travels.
You need a negative PCR test, as opposed to Antigen test within 72hrs to board your flight. I dont think it's checked entering Thailand as everyone is tested again when they arrive.
I’ve seen people denied boarding because there paper didn’t say “RT-PCR”

RT–PCR is a variation of PCR, or polymerase chain reaction. The two techniques use the same process except that RT–PCR has an added step of reverse transcription of RNA to DNA, or RT, to allow for amplification. ... Since the COVID-19 virus only contains RNA, real time or conventional RT–PCR is used to detect it.///// Quote from Google. I understood that for COVID case it is only RT PCR being used.
