Has anyone had any experience with getting a tourist visa with the Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur lately? I'm trying to understand how many days it takes to process a tourist visa because I must book the dates to apply for the visa as well as to collect the passport. I will apply on a Friday but I'm unsure when I can book the collection day.

Went to Taipei recently and I could collect the passport on the same day as the application.

You must book appointment as they won't even admit you thru the gates without. Once you have completed the application, you will be give a time to return the following day. Or day after at worst. You will NOT get your passport back same day.

Oh, so they will give me the time to return the following day? Because their website has both a Visa Application date and a Visa Collection one. The application date I've already booked it, but it won't let me book the collection date if more than 6 days after the current day.

I'm not sure why they have that on the website to be honest. Upon completion of the application interview they gave a time to pick up. In our case it was the following day. But some people received a time 2 days later. Not sure why the difference.

KL takes one day. You submit the papers and next afternoon you pick it up. Be careful with the documents. If one is missing, you will be rejected. Specifically bank statements. You must book submission and reception dates at the same time. No reservations no entry into the consulate.

I have booked the application date, but the website lets me book the collection day just a few days before that date. It's confusing

record it as a video so that you can show to the security guys. Also, try every day whenever you have time. You must choose "visa collection" on the webpage
