Hello, I'm currently on an education visa, (sponsoring my children) and the uni has asked for a certificate of family relations to extend the visa. We are British and when I called the embassy they said its not a document they offer here in Thailand. Has anyone had a similar issue at all and how did you get it resolved? Thankyou in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on how to obtain a family relations certificate required for their education visa extension in Thailand, specifically mentioning that the British embassy does not provide this document. Comments suggest that a birth certificate indicating the user's name may suffice as evidence of family relations.
Yeah if you could get them to write you an official letter stating that the UK only utilizes Birth Certificates / Marriage Certificates / & Court Orders to prove relationship & guardianship. I wish you luck! Im also a mom in university..its such a headache :)
wow so weird, and Im american. I do speak Thai - so maybe they were a bit easier on me. Im sorry you are having the run around. ๐ Have you asked the Embassy for a letter stating they do not issue that type of paper?
It's called a certificate of Family relations, not a birth certificate. Strange I know but apparently American embassies have provided the certificate in the past for past students.
