Hello, I am in Hong Kong with HKID. I am a Indian passport holder. I want to train muah thai in thailand for 2-3 months. From a google search, I see that I can get 14 days visa free entry with my passport.

If I go to apply for 2-3 months tourist visa on the thai website, I am asked for accommodations and acceptance of institute for the course I am taking.

I would like to get to Chiang Mai first, find what I like and train at that gym and find a condo.

I'd like to budget within 600-800 usd per month.

I want help and guidance on how to proceed.

Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
As an Indian passport holder currently in Hong Kong, you can enter Thailand visa-free for 14 days. However, if you plan to stay for 2-3 months, consider applying for a tourist visa, which usually requires proof of accommodation and acceptance from a Muay Thai training school. Alternatively, you can enter Thailand visa-free for 60 days upon arrival and extend your stay for an additional 30 days if necessary. Your budget of 600-800 USD per month is feasible, as Muay Thai training packages range from 5500 to 8000 THB for daily sessions.

Your budget is doable. Muay Thai monthly packages run about 5500-8000bht/month training once per day.

If you have a passport from India, you qualify for visa exempt. This is a free stamp for 60 days permission to stay in Thailand. You can also apply one time for a 30 day extension.

Thank you for your reply Brandon, if I am understanding this correctly, can I just book a 1 way ticket, show up in thailand and get a 60 day visa at immigration without any issues?

Steven Shonk's flight wouldn't let him board with a one-way ticket.

Your airline might ask you to show proof that you will leave Thailand in 60 days. Immigration can also ask to see the same thing though it's less likely. You could buy a bus or train ticket for cheap to show if you are asked.
