Just left CW. Iam on tourist visa and this was ia my 5th covid extension. Not many people waiting and staff came out checked my stamps and said been here long time and thailand is open. Asked for a return flight home and i had that ready. I managed to get my covid extension. However, i saw all staff asking for return flight back. Please be prepared for this. Some were busy buying flights straight away.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post describes the experience of obtaining a COVID extension for a tourist visa in Thailand, highlighting the necessity of presenting a return flight ticket and the process involved at the immigration office. It also notes the requirement for recent ATK and vaccine proof upon entry, although this can be bypassed by filling out a form. Other comments provide additional details on which type of return ticket is acceptable, whether medical insurance is required for the extension, and specific procedural requirements like the necessity for a TM30 registration. Overall, the conversation offers valuable insights into managing visa extensions during the COVID-19 pandemic.
I think ๐ค it depends on what Visa you Entered Thailand. I originally had a Retirement Visa, and am Now on the 60 Days Visa Extension. Keeping my fingers crossed, going next week to CW for another 60 Days Visa Extension (Covid-19). No Embassy Letter (USA)

My Tourist visa is valid until mid of Dec. can I apply by now? Is there any guideline when we can start applying Covid visa?
Do you need to buy and show medical insurance for the extension?
For return ticket, is that ok if I buy 60 days from my current visa expiry?
did they make any notation on the stamp or in their data base re the return ticket? I will bet they did note it in the immigration data base and will know if you seek another visa/extension before leaving.
Frankly I think the COVID parade is coming to a close December 31.
The new proposed date of December 31st is not 60 days from November 26th...as all prior COVID extension dates ...when announced ...were 60 days.

Went to CW yesterday for the same (60 days Covid extension for tourist visa). Had the same experience: smooth process but need to prove that you have a return ticket.
