Is there a mandatory waiting period for re-entering Thailand on a DTV visa after leaving the country?

Hello!

We want to leave the country and come back to get another stamp. Is it mandatory to be outside for some exact amount of time? Or we can just go back on the next day?

P.S. We are on DTV visa!

Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
You are not required to stay outside Thailand for a specific amount of time before re-entering with a DTV visa. However, some land borders may have specific requirements that might necessitate spending a night or two in the neighboring country. For ease, consider using local services designed to facilitate border crossings, which can help you return the same day without complications.

There is no amount of time you have to be out of the country

SOME land borders make you spend a night or two in the neighboring country before you can come back in to thailand but that's a border specific requirement

If you're bouncing by land use a service that takes people to the border and back in your area. Those services have it set up so their people can get out/back the same day without having any hassle

Flying in shouldn't be a problem,

it’s still a border bounce mate . Point being your at 180 days and need a new 180 day stamp . Call it what you want but that’s what it is.

Even people doing “visa runs” actually don’t even have visas, they are just renewing a visa exempt

also to my point above , it’s not about Thai immigration it’s about the Laos immigration they don’t want people going across just getting a stamp, plus it’s a good way to inject some money into the country ……

just don't try it at the Aranyaprathet/Poipet border and you should be good, and take enough clothes/supplies so you can stay overnight if you have to

Even with a valid visa, some borders make you stay out overnight

no……. It’s not about the Thai side it’s about the Laos side …….
