First time to post here. Would like to ask opinion about visiting thailand.
I'm a Philippine passport holder on Visa exemption when visiting Thailand. I was there last June 2023 until Dec. 2023 with 2 exits and 3 visa extensions. Would like to ask if the 180days rule per year for tourist still exist or can I come back Chiang Mai anytime soon?
I've been searching in google, said that rule was long ago abolished and not so much articles about the 180days rule. I got confused and worried that if I come back next month, they might deny my entry.
Thanks in advance for answers. ๐๐

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the 180-day rule for tourist visas for Philippine passport holders, expressing concern about their ability to return to Thailand after extended stays and multiple visa extensions. According to a comment, there is no longer a strict 180-day rule, and entry is at the discretion of the immigration officer. It is suggested that flying directly into Chiang Mai could prevent any potential entry issues.
There is no 180 days rule, but every entry is at the discretion of the immigration officer you're talking to. If you fly directly into Chiang Mai you will avoid any potential issues as we've never had a report of anyone having trouble entering Thailand at the ChiangMai airport.
thank you for the information. I am just worried that because of what I read and heard about the 180 days per year, i might get denied entry and will have future problems entering thailand. ๐
that's why I recommended flying directly to ChiangMai. Bangkok and Phuket deny entry to lots of people. We've never heard of anyone being denied entry at Chiang Mai.
