I asked on a thread I found on this page but not sure the guy will answer. I don’t see anywhere asking for proof of funds while doing a VISA run in Hong Kong. Anyone been there recently that can confirm? I found the below and it’s not listed under requirements...

TLDR : Answer Summary
Several users confirm that proof of funds is not required for a visa run to Hong Kong for a Thai visa. One comment suggests bringing proof just to be safe, but experiences from recent travelers indicate that the process is quite relaxed and does not typically involve requests for financial documentation.
I was there about 6 months ago.. I don't remember if they asked for proof of funds.. I always bring - but just don't recall them asking me to show it.. I do remember it was a pretty easy going process.
If you are a non-Hong Kong resident they just want a photocopy of your arrival slip in Hong Kong (HK does not stamp passports). Be sure to have a photocopy of that before you go to apply. That is the equivalent required of foreigners who don't have the resident card.
if you're not an HK resident or have a PR card from the past, don't sweat it. Doesn't matter. I was just mentioning it because a lot of former HK expats reside here now.

No ID required ignore that requirement from the website. I got about 4 or 5 SETVs from HGK over time (but in different passports), the last one being 3 weeks ago.

What were you saying about the HK ID if I don’t have one? Being a US citizen?

It is not listed, but read the bottem line. I would take proof with me to be sure.
they don't usually ask for it. At consulates that have wanted it, anything reasonably recent has been fine in my experience (I have shown bank statements at Phnom Penh and Manila).
how'd you show proof? If we leave on Friday to HK but aren't at the consulate until Tuesday, can I just show them a bank statement from that Friday we leave? Like 4 days earlier? Or do I need to print off a bank statement the day of the consulate visit?

yeah we are and we'll be fine, just wondering what others have experienced recently. Obviously everyone's experience differs. Thanks
