I was thinking of coming to thailand with Special Tourist Visa in March 2021

I read that I have to do quarantine 14 days in a hotel, but then I read also the prices, cheapest is 32000 bath for 14 days

Kind of a steep price which may discourage me coming in March 2021

The thai embassy in Thailand says that I will have to book 3 months of accomodation in advance before my arrival, my experience when travelling is never book in advance as I may have problems in the apartment (wifi not working, bad smell, noise etc..)

so this is another big point that incorages me to wait organizing this..

Did I understand everything correctly or am I wrong?

Is it this hard and expensive moving to thailand in 2021?

"A little steep"? 15 nights in a hotel - including 3 meals a day, transport to/from airport - 2 covid tests - 24 hour nurse on duty - security presence. Not a bad deal!

I've worked it out into British pounds that a 15 night stay in a hotel charging 40,000 baht is about £60 a night at current rates. Taking into account meals, covid tests and transport, security and so forth ... that's not bad.

15 nights quarantine.... but the cost includes pick up at airport by your hotel, 3 meals a day, daily health checks and 2 covid tests..... also water, tea, coffee, snacks in room too

Your understanding of the facts is correct. The quarantine fee also includes room service food and covid testing provided by the hotel's medical partner. Many hotels in Thailand are now offering heavily discounted monthly rates, which should balance against the requirement to do extra research on your accommodation (and the risk that you make a bad choice).

STV visa is not for moving into Thailand.

After 9 months stay elapsed you'll have to leave the country, and this visa can't be converted into any other visa, like e.g. standard tourist visa.

Giovanni Edmonson I'm atm, but I lived 7+ years in TH, and looking to come back, hence study everything abt TH visas with great degree of accuracy.

To figure out that STV vs. TR can't be converted into other type of visa, is also not a rocket science.
