I went to immigration in Ubon to do my one year extension today , married to thai. I got over two months under consideration. Because 4 weeks under consideration starts on the expiry date of the last extension according to the officer. Is that normal practice?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about the duration of the 'under consideration' period for their one-year visa extension due to being married to a Thai citizen. They received a notice indicating an over two-month consideration period, which they found unusual. Comments from other users shared personal experiences, noting that such delays can happen, and that the counting starts from the expiration of the last visa. Some users mentioned that their experiences with the process varied by region and type of visa, confirming that different immigration offices can have different practices.

I honestly do not now a country that has a higher fee for retirement. It's funny Thai retirement is only 1000 baht a month. Wish they had the military special like the phillipines

I usually had 6 weeks under consideration in Chiang Mai, because of their home visiting as the office told me

First visit when I applied for the "Thai-Wife Visa", second visit 5 years later.
wow, that's a lot. I hope they'll not come. Last year I spent about 4 hours on something that could have been done in 30 min if he would have been some what organised.
you SURE you got an under consideration stamp dated the 26th of April? As a rule that doesn't happen, they're pretty good about knowing weekends AND most thai holidays too
not the answer I was hoping for. But thanks anyway. 😊

remember, IF you need to leave/come back during this new under consideration stamp you need a NEW re-entry permit (which is only good for that stamp validity)
