Is it normal for Phuket Immigration to issue a 3-day 'Under Consideration' stamp instead of the usual 14 days for a Covid-19 extension?

I just got home and noticed from picking up my passport at Phuket Immigration for my Covid-19 Extension and the Under Consideration was only dated for 3 days later instead of the usual 14 days. Is this just a wrong stamp that was used or do i really need to come back in 2 more days?

Its been quite the annoying journey in phuket immigration driving 30 min each way already...

Day 1 = Get Queue number for following day

Day 2 = Process Application and they held passport

Day 3 = Pickup Passport

Are things expedited in Phuket now with a 3 day under processing?

Jan 29 is a magical date because that's when Immigration will stop giving COVID-19 extensions.

Seems like Jan 29 is now synchronized with the "under consideration" return date... what will happen after?

 You will get 60 days on the 29th. Nothing after that, unless something else is announced.

. My previous COVID extension expires in February, but after applying at Phuket this week the office called me to inform me that I was going to lose days. "Why did you apply early? Now you will only get 30 days." 😆

People in Bangkok, Samui, Chiang Mai, etc, are receiving the full 60 days, counted from the expiration of their previous extension of stay.

: that's interesting, a request for 90 day report... that's only used for longer extensions. Same for re-entry permit. It looks they used the incorrect stamp for your extension.

The main issue I have is why the Under Processing is only 3 days when it has always been 14 days in the past. I was just wondering if it was an accident with the wrong date on the stamp which happens from time to time.

I got my first Covid 60 days on the spot at Chantaburi immigration. So I guess it is dependent on which branch u go to.

I have a friend in Khao Lak that say they never get under processing in Phang Nga and get 60 days on the spot.... It would be nice if all offices followed the same rules instead of office by office basis...

 that would be nice but probably won't happen any time soon lol. I've also heard phang nga doesn't allow for cash payments, I guess to avoid bribes? Sounds like they got a good system going there either way.

 maybe they just need to have them all processed by the end of the month? My processing time was only 7 days the last 2 times I extended so maybe the process has gotten more efficient?

 If thats the case it would be nice to go again so quickly. With my luck im sure they will tell me, oh its not ready yet come back in 11 more days because they know how much we enjoy going there. 555

 maybe at Phuket it was always 14 days but certainly not every where in the country. My first under consideration period was for a month and 3 weeks. Samui is currently extending on the spot with no under consideration period even though they used to do 14 days or more. Other offices have had a few day under consideration period before, I believe it was MTT.

I was there today at 7.30am and was 1st in line. Waited for 4 hours to clear the 40 odd people from yesterday afternoon. Pick up passport tomorrow and then likely back for a 3rd day after consideration stamp. Unfortunately its how its done but you could have saved one day by getting there early.

 you also probably could have saved 1 day if you stuck around until the end of the day to collect your passport. That's what I did yesterday after they told me to pick it up today.

I got mine done (2nd stamp) yesterday but If it’s anything like it was at the end of November the last day of the month will likely be very busy. I had to go back on the last day for my 2nd stamp in November and it still took a few hours to get the stamp. I’d suggest going in early as I was there at 8:30 and still had to wait quite awhile. Also, the 60 days starts the day you get your under consideration stamp, not on the day that your previous 60 days would have expired, just FYI.

They will give you 60 days on the 29th, as that is the last day it is allowed.

 yikes, so if you went 1 day before me Im assuming the 29th is going to be jam packed then if all passports are stamped like that.

 yes it will be crazy busy. But at least we're only doing the easy part now and collecting our stamp. I didn't go a day before you though. I went on the 25th and was sent home with a queue number for the 26th and then was given an under consideration stamp to return on the 29th.

 ahh I see. They told me yesterday to pick up my passport at 2 and when I tried they said it wasn't ready and to come back tomorrow(today). Not wanting to waste another 30 mins drive each way, I decided to chance waiting them out. Went to pick up my passport at 3:45 and thankfully it was done. What queue number were you?

But yeah, the annoying part is having to constantly drive back and forth. And sometimes in the past I have spent 3-4 hours on average there.

 I was #3, so on tuesday I was processed right away. On monday I just asked for the queue number for the next day. I was lucky to get such a low number when I arrived at 8:30
