Planning to extend my 30 days exemption visa at Pai immig. office. Anyone experience doing it there, or is Chiang Mai easier/faster? Is TM30 required there or in CM usually? I don't have that.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses the process of extending a 30-day exemption visa in Thailand, comparing the experiences at Pai and Chiang Mai immigration offices. Participants note that Pai is generally seen as a more efficient and quicker option, with friendly staff and shorter wait times. However, the TM30 form, which relates to the registration of guests, is required for both locations. Users recommend checking with accommodations about obtaining the TM30 before visiting the immigration office.
doesn't even has a visa, she has a 30 days "stay permit". All Immigration does is extending your "stay permit". In Pai she needs the TM30 registration made by her guesthouse. Her TM30 from Chiang Mai is useless in Pai

My main stay is in Chiang mai and will be in Pai only this week. Booked a room there, so not sure if I can get Tm30 from both places
Pai immigration is pretty awesome. The staff are great and you will be in and out in no time .
I consider it busy there when there are 2 people in front of me . Mostly just walk through the door and straight to the desk .

You need a TM30. Where are you staying in Pai? Ask at your lodgings/hotel for a copy of the TM30 they should have filed as it's their responsibility to register any staying guests.
I got one of my accommodation in CM. I will keep that room, while traveling to Pai staying at a guesthouse just for this week .If its true that a new form will overwrite the old one, I'm not sure what yo do then
... to extend in Pai, I'm almost certain you need a TM30 from there so your guest house need to provide that.

We just extended in Chiang Mai last week. We got there at 8 am (they open at 8:30) and didnโt walk out until 12:00. We did need TM30 information.

Most offices require a TM30 and you can't just choose which office to extend at, it needs to be the office that services the area where your TM30 is filed
