Need a bit of clarification on how long you can stay each calendar year with your DTV.
Is it 180 days then leave for a day come back and get another 180 day stamp?
Can you can do that for up to 5 years currently?
Also if you stay more than the 180 days you may have to pay Thai taxes depending on the country you come from (US) .. and of course you need to report to immigration every 90 days also ..
TLDR : Answer Summary
In Thailand, a DTV visa allows for a stay of up to 180 days per entry. You can receive one 180-day extension, resulting in a maximum stay of 380 days without leaving the country. You must report to immigration every 90 days to maintain compliance. If you leave the country briefly and return, you can receive another 180-day stamp. Staying 180 days or more in a calendar year may classify you as a tax resident in Thailand, which can have tax implications based on your income source. However, if you do not have assessable income, you may not incur tax liability.
