Hi bit of a dilemma, cut a long story short , have been on non immigrant o twelve month extension of stay finishe 11 feb . Changeing to marriage been married eight years ( should have done it first up!!) any how used money for extension during Covid to keep families assets on even keel, now my marriage visa money does not mature until 17 March ? My local immigration say cannot give me visa for 6o days can get tourist visa for 30 day then approx 7 days short. They are pleasant but straight any suggestions ? Thankyou

Wow you sure painted yourself into a corner 🙁

Nope there is no 30 day extension.

Why did they say you couldn't get a 60 day visit thai family extension <- that is available to people ONCE per entry (meaning if you never used it since you entered thailand the last time you should qualify for it).

Also since the new covid program came into effect people on Non-Imm visa/extensions cannot get a covid extension so that's not an option for you either

IF you can't get that 60 day visit family extension about the only thing you could do would be (and I hesitate to even mention this 😕 ) would be to run on overstay for the 34 days 😮

That would accrue a fine of 500 baht a day or 17,000 baht. THEN immediately apply for your yearly extension on the day your funds are seasoned the full 2 months 🙁

I don't see any other viable options for you..

OR you leave the country and come back in, getting a 30 day visa exempt entry stamp, and then start the process of applying for a new 90 day Non-O visa (which doesn't require the 400K baht be seasoned any time at all), get that and then by the time that new 90 day stamp runs out your funds will have been in the account the time required (2 months) so you could apply for a new yearly extension

thanks Tod I expected this ? But your help is great will talk to Bangkok immigration maybe the can give me the 60 day visiting Thai wife ? Local immigration not keen ! Thanks once again

not sure Bangkok immigration will help you. You need to use the immigration office where you live. If you've already used the visiting family 60 day extension since you last entered the country you can't get it a 2nd time

don't take their lack of enthusiasm about an extension you're entitled to ask for as meaning you can't get it (perhaps they are dismayed you know of it and were searching for a back hander instead 😛

Plus you aren't tryin to be their friends and don't care if you're off their christmas card list 😛

I'd sure go there before to make sure you can get it (BUT wait to apply closer to the date the stamp runs out because they might give you the 60 days from the day you apply)

IF they don't grant it your option is to leave or run on overstay like I outlined earlier

I think you misunderstood them. They CANNOT give you a 30-day tourist visa, but they can give you a 60-day visiting family extension, which gives the time allowing your money to mature
