Robert Lagas Todd Daniels, Please advise. 

I have been advised by Chaeng Wattana and other sources that you can extend a non-O Family visa into a one year extension based on marriage to Thai.

I have transferred my US pension to Thai Farmers Bank (53,000 baht/mo), provided proof of income, and all the K bank statements for my local immigration office’s perusal.

They tell me that income more than 40,000 a month applies only to foreigners with Thai children. Bangkok says otherwise.

Please when you have time explain to me how to extend my non-immigrant type O Visa, as my wife and I have been married almost 30 years.

If you would be so kind to help us it would be much appreciated.

And you said that you live in the south now so you have to go to that imm. office . Hope the hotel or yourself (TM28/TM30) did a change of address as well. When the time is there for a year extension, ask y'r local imm. office for the handout of docs you need.

I am currently living in southern Thailand with my Thai wife. We were living in Bangkok on a retirement visa until these new financial rules were put in place. I didn’t have the 800,000 baht.

And you have been transferring in a minimum of 40K baht per month each month EVERY month for the previous 12 months?

You CAN get a yearly extension based on marriage by using monthly income amount.

, Is this a yearly extension where I have to leave Thailand every 90 days or is it a yearly permit to live in Thailand without leaving? They also tell me that I need a Embassy stamp verifying my income (notarized by the US Embassy), which to my understanding the U S Embassy no longer will do? Although I live in southern Thailand, can I appeal to Chaeng Wattana?
