Hi everyone!

I have a question about land crosses for visas.

My tourist visa runs out of the 1st of January, however I have already done 2 land border crosses this year (2018) - what I’m curious about is, as it will be 2019 will that reset my land crosses or is it two land crosses per year from the first land cross that I did? 

Hope that makes sense and someone can give me some advice 🙂

It resets on 1 Jan and you will have a further two visa exempt entries for 2019 that you can use immediately. Also consider an extension.

To make this clear: You can cross the border from Thailand to neighbor country and back AS MUCH AS YOU LIKE if you have a valid Thai Visa. If you cross WITHOUT a visa and are legit to use the Visa Exempt Entry for 30 days than you're limited to two crossings a calendar year using this Visa Exempt Entry. The countries on this list are legit for this 30 day Visa Exempt Entry (NO visa) and limited to 2 times a calendar year:

Tod Daniels I think k that must be it also my husband is from border Malaysian side so we often go danok but the last 4 have been without Thai visa. I also asked if I would be fine again next week as my daughter is getting her Thai I'd.

I wonder if they treat you differently because of your long stay visa to Malaysia and exempt you from the rule?

then by rights you should have ONLY been able to come into thailand by land without a visa to thailand TWO times on 30 day visa exempt entries in a year.

what is your nationality? Unless the thai authorities are looking at you as a malaysian because of the visa you hold in that country. Malaysians are exempt from the TWO 30 day visa exempt entries in a year rule.

I have crossed 4 times this year from Sadao no visa but I do drive my own car and have valid Malaysian spouse visa
