Hi, do I need to have the money in the account for past 6 months? Thai Embassy in Vietnam asks for 6 months statement.

Do my contract documents need to be translated into english from whatever language they are now?

HCM is moving to the e-visa system in early October with processing times to possibly become as long as 30 days so beware of that.

For HCM, no. I emailed them and they said they need to see a statement with 6 months worth of transactions AND an account closing balance of 500K. 1 month of holding 500K would appear to be sufficient but no specific amount of time was mentioned.

Now people are saying that Vientiane requires 3 or even 6 months worth of 500K minimum though I am not certain this is an actual requirement. I think clarity will come in the coming days and I've emailed the Vientiane consulate for clarification.

I asked the HCM consulate and they said 6 month statements but no specific need to have the money sitting there for 6 months. I don't think that is a requirement anywhere.

yea, I thought so, working on that....not sure about the 6 months there but I guess, it shouldn't be an issue if the money is not there all the time. I have three different accounts and I usually don't hold money just laying like that doing nothing on one of them

Anonymous participant I suspect the 500k must be there when you apply. For our retire visa's we need 800k when we apply and must be there for 1 year to get a renewal.

Thailand asks for the money just to be there, it is different from retire. Only Vietnam asks for 6 months statement tho
