Do I need to show proof of departure if I pay for a 7-day extension after an overstay fine in Thailand?

If for ex u have 3 days overstays, I think u will only be allow to pay for 4 more days (because ur 3 days overstays count when u try to make a extension). It is the case for the 30 days extension, not sure about 7 days but I had to mention it.

. Okay, the way it works when you clear an overstay of under 90 days (where you're not banned) IS

you can go to the immigration office, pay the overstay and leave the country THAT day

OR

you can go to the immigration office, pay the overstay and buy an 'extension denied' 7 day stamp for 1900baht to get out of thailand in a week

OR

you can just pay the overstay at the border when you stamp out of the country.

Using any of those options are not gonna cause you any difficulties at a thai consulate getting a new visa.

Face it you're not the first foreigner in the history of thailand to overstay.

You should be able to go in clear your overstay fine, apply for an extension (which will be denied) and get the 7 day extension denied stamp to get outta thailand.

I HAVE seen officers ask people for proof that they're leaving in 7 days but it is rare.

Do keep in mind it is 100% up to the discretion of the officer whether they'll let you get that 7 day stamp or whether they'll have you clear your overstay, deny the 7 day stamp and make you leave the country that day.
