Preparing to apply for DTV in Vientiane, Laos.

I've seen some reports saying that the 500k THB must be in the account continuously for the preceeding three months.

Can anyone confirm or contradict this? I'm planning to transfer money into the account just before applying, since it's currently spread over several accounts.

Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for the DTV in Vientiane, Laos, it is required that you maintain 500,000 THB in your bank account continuously for three months prior to your application. There are user confirmations indicating that presenting six months of bank statements was acceptable, but the three-month rule is commonly referenced. It is advisable to do thorough research and possibly consult others who have recently completed the process.

Thank you Andi. I actually did see one of your posts stating it was a requirement, which prompted me to ask.

This means my plans will have to change. Do you know of any embassies which do not enforce this requirement?

Vietnam, Jakarta, Cambodia, Taipei, Manilla, Yangon are ok with just a final balance of 500K non seasoned.

Thank you. This is quite frustrating, but at least I won't have to make the trip and be rejected. I appreciate your advice.

You are in Thailand now? yes, you would lose your application fee if they do not accept your recent deposit.

Nope still in Bangkok. I was hoping to go to Laos this weekend but with this news I will make plans to go to Ho Chi Minh instead.

just to add, you don’t have to be in HCMC itself, just the area that embassy serves. Da Nang for instance is a less busy city to hang out in and is still covered by HCMC for Thai visa applications. Enjoy Vietnam if that’s where you choose to go.

are you certain about that? Da Nang might be a great option in that case
