Do I need to go back to Bangkok for my 90 day reporting after moving to Surat Thani while on a DTV visa for Muay Thai training?

Jan 24, 2025
I recently applied for DTV under Muay Thai soft power and I applied under a gym in Bangkok for one month training. I’ve since moved to the Surat Thani area and am now training at a different gym with no relation to the one I originally applied under. Is there anything further I need to do and for my 90 day reporting will I need to go back up to Bangkok or can I do it from here in Surat Thani and it won’t affect anything in terms of my visa?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user applied for a DTV visa for Muay Thai training in Bangkok but has since moved to Surat Thani and changed gyms. They are inquiring about required actions due to the gym change and the process for their 90-day reporting. The comments suggest that providing the local immigration office with a TM30 form is sufficient for the 90-day report, and it's advisable for the new gym to assist with any documentation needed for potential long-term stay considerations.

Is the gym you’re currently training at able to assist with DTV applications? If so, you might want to prepare paperwork from them if you intend to extend your stay rather than border bounce.

It also might be prudent to do that anyway in case you’re questioned at some point during the potential five years of your visa.

As for your 90 day report, just a TM30 at your local immigration office is enough.

That is how strict control will be implemented more quickly

and there won’t be any further questioning as to why I’m not in Bangkok where the initial gym was for the visa to be accepted?

Anonymous participant possibly you have answered to your question. In case if you will come to immigration for visa extension possibly it will effect somehow, but if you never visit immigration office maybe nobody cares. It's looks like similar to situation when student study in Phuket School, but actually full time living and renting an apartment in Bangkok and never had a single chance to attend to class room for study. I have no idea what would happen with visa of this person in such situation.

Anonymous participant not for your 90 day report they only need to know where you currently live.
