TLDR : Answer Summary
To switch to a teaching visa (B visa) in Bangkok, you need to cancel your current visa, even if it expires on the 27th of October. It is generally recommended that you handle this cancellation before applying for the new visa, and it's important to note that B visas must be obtained from a consulate or embassy outside of Thailand.
As far as I am aware. B visas are not obtained within Thailand. You must apply for one at a consulate or embassy in another country. As least that's what I, and all the other teachers I know, did.
ok when did you apply for your visa because I’ve heard the rules have changed

I've had many. And so have all the other teachers in the country who are on overstay, because they are unable to renew their visas because the borders are closed.
If you not cancel, your visa will be expired on that date. if you got a new school they will let you cancel your visa before apply a new visa for teaching in there school.
