Hello. I got the 90 day visa based on marriage, but won’t be able to apply for the 9 month extension in time due to an issue outside my control. Do I need to cancel my current visa before I leave the country (like with an education visa)?
TLDR : Answer Summary
If you are holding a 90-day visa based on marriage and are unable to apply for a 9-month extension before your departure, there is no need to cancel your visa before leaving. You can remain in Thailand for the full duration of the 90 days. Once you leave the country, your current visa will automatically cancel without requiring any formal cancellation process.
