Hello all. I have a question about the medical insurance required to travel to Thailand.

I plan to visit my Thai wife for Christmas. She is a government employee specifically a district public health employee. A couple of occasions in the past that I came for a visit I required hospitalization and was covered by her medical benefit as a beneficiary.

My question is, do I need to buy the medical insurance coverage required to travel to Thailand?

Any information is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

It is a requirement to get a flight and certificate of entry (COE) which is only issued by the Thai embassy in your country. Check with them if your wife's insurance policy is adequate to meet the requirements for a certificate of entry or if you will need a separate insurance policy covering your period of stay
