Hi, could you help me, please.

If I apply for DTV online (an eVisa), then it doesn’t matter whether I am a resident of the country or not? I only need to provide a rental agreement or similar proof that I am staying there at the time of application? I plan to go to Japan for two months and was considering applying for DTV while I am there.

And one more - if I have a strong CV as an artist with exhibitions, interviews, projects, awards, collaboration with media, etc, but don’t contract, am I allowed to apply? And in this case do I need to show them my portfolio?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The applicant is inquiring whether they can apply for a DTV eVisa online while being a non-resident of Thailand, requiring only proof of stay, such as a rental agreement. They are also uncertain about their eligibility as an artist with a strong CV but no contracts, and whether they need to submit a portfolio.

It depends. Most Thai embassies cater to non-residents also, while some don't. That information is usually written on each embassy website.

Check the website of the Embassy you want to apply at.

Nobody can tell excactly if the CV is enough, either they will ask for additional documentation, or they will reject the application.

It depends. Some embassies require you to be a resident but most don't, only that you are physically in the country. Check with the embassy you plan to use
